Wells and Drinking Water

  In the county of Santa Cruz, we rely heavily on local surface and groundwater sources for our community’s drinking water supply.  All homes in Santa Cruz County must have a safe water supply and a system for proper disposal of sewage and wastewater. The goal of our Land Use Program is to ensure that water supplies are safe for public use and to help people with these water supply systems. Our staff certifies, inspects, and regulates these systems to make sure that they meet all requirements in order to ensure safety for people and the environment.
