Many parcels throughout Santa Cruz County contain high groundwater, poor soils, and limited space for development. These factors can restrict the utilization of a standard wastewater treatment system. The owner of a parcel that cannot meet the requirements for a Standard System has the option to utilize a Limited Expansion, Low-Flow, or Haulaway System. These systems have the ability to operate on difficult parcels and cut up to 50% of the leachfield area.
